On 14 January 1945, during the breakthrough of the German defences near the grove “Pistolet”, comrade IVANOV proved himself as a brave and courageous soldier.

Under heavy enemy artillery fire, he and his section were the first to rush into the enemy trenches, where they knocked out 2 machine-gun positions and their crews with hand-grenades and killed 8 Fritzes, thus enabling the company to advance forward and accomplish its combat mission.

For exhibited bravery and courage, comrade IVANOV deserves the order order “PATRIOTIC WAR II CLASS”.
