On 26 January 1945, comrade ELAGIN’s rifle battalion force crossed the river Przemsza during a combat engagement. The troops crossed the river to the western bank utilising the available ad hoc means. Then, with a bold attack, they captured the hill 279.0 and the settlement Imielin Jazd, thus flanking the enemy force defending in Dziećkowice Jazd and enlarging the bridgehead on the western bank.
