Short Description of his feat of arms or achievements:

26 April 1945, the enemy counter-attacked in the area south-east of the town Teuplitz (on the main Berlin road). Comrade MOVCHAN participated in fending off these attacks, while being present on the firing position where the guns fired directly with open sights. He provided artillery support to the 1st battalion of 170 rifle regiment. During the first enemy attack, MOVCHAN’s guns were spotted by the enemy, who attempted to destroy them with faustpatrone salvoes. Despite intensive enemy automatic fire, comrade MOVCHAN managed to redeploy promptly the guns on a new position and continued providing the artillery support, firing at the numerically superior enemy force.

When the rifle troops of the 1st battalion of 170 rifle regiment faltered under the enemy pressure and retreated to the line behind our guns, comrade MOVCHAN organised the riflemen and a some of the artillerymen to guard and defend the artillery positions. He personally acted many times as a gun layer and fired the Germans at a point blank range.

In this battle, his artillery platoon eliminated up to 30 enemy troops, 4 faustpatrone operators, and 3 enemy machine-guns.
