Awarded to Jewish Sr. Lieutenant Yakov Evseevich Rubinshtein (Яков Евсеевич Рубинштейн)
For operating effectively since the first day the war with Japan started. Despite lack of tools and resources he effectively examined and analysed his combat mission for construction of a military road and approached its execution with maximum of energy
Made of solid silver and enamels. It measures 50.98 mm in height, 50.04 mm in width and weighs 39.9 grams. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the 6 o’clock position underneath the screw.
This original order of Alexander Nevsky is in excellent condition with most details crisp and a fair amount of gold plating still present. The higher laying parts on the obverse show light wear and the red enamel is fully present without repairs with some small scratches on its top ray only. The center medallion has its original proof-like shine and gathered a strong patina. The reverse shows several tiny scratches which are not too distracting from its overall appearance and its screw has not been shortened. There have been no repairs and the order comes with its time period and well fitted screwplate.
This Awarded to a Jewish officer for the battle against Japan. Rare as such!

“Sr. Lieutenant RUBINSTEIN effectively examined and analysed his combat mission for construction of a military road and approached its execution with maximum of energy, efficiently utilising his resources and inspiring his men for achieving the objective. Having unexpectedly received several extra doses of horse carriages, truck, and several hundred workers to his disposal, he promptly and efficiently utilised this extra resource. From the day the war with Japan started, Sr. Lieutenant RUBINSTEIN operated effectively despite lack of tools and resources. He managed to get and utilise stretchers and wheel barrows to maintain 22km long road in passable conditions, thus keeping the troops and ammunition supplies flowing to the front line.
Conclusion: For effective work in provision of rapid advance of the troops, for systematic excess of the working quota for construction of a military road, he de deserves state award order “RED STAR””
