Soviet Order for Personal Courage #002342
Awarded to Colonel Nikolaj Ivanovich Pakhomov (Николай Иванович Пахомов)
Head of the surgical team of the 2nd Central polyclinic of the Ministry of Defence of USSR
Made of silver and enamels. It measures 44.69 mm in width, 48.41 mm in height and weighs 32.4 gram without its suspension. The mint mark and serial number “002342” are located on its reverse.
This original order is in near mint condition with all details crisp. The red and white enamels are flawless and the orders shows full gold plating and blackening. The suspension and ribbon are time period to the medal. There have been no repairs and its connection ring has not been cut.
According to mondvor.narod.ru there are only 529 Orders for Personal Courage awarded. This order is therefore among the rarest of post WW2 Soviet awards.
A true rarity and impossible to upgrade!!
This order was awarded by the decree № 1682 on 20.10.1993. This is a closed decree, i.e. not for publicly available. Therefore, the register card photocopy was not provided by the archive. Only the verbal content of it:
Nikolaj Ivanovich Pakhomov. Born 1948 in village Totskoe, Orenburg region. Head of the surgical team of the 2nd Central polyclinic of the Ministry of Defence of USSR. Colonel of medical corps. Order “For Personal Courage” №002342by the decree №1682 on 20.10.1993.
Colonel Pakhomov’s register card for the order “For Service to the Motherland in the armed forces of USSR” is available: №100284 by decree №569-1 on 04.10.1989.
