Medal for the Defense of Stalingrad variation 1
Awarded to Guards Sergeant Georgy Mikhailovich Platitsin (Георгий Михайлович Платицин) who served in the 11th Guards Tank Brigade
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.18 mm in width, 36.90 mm in height, including the eyelet and it weighs 17.1 gram without its suspension.
This medal is in excellent condition with its details crisp on both sides and light overall wear. It shows relatively few dings and scratches and some of the gold plating is still present. The medal comes with its time period double layer steel suspension and its connection ring has been cut.
Its accompanying document is in used condition and has been reinforced by transparent tape on its reverse. It is dated 12 July 1943 and numbered Б 36631.
