Scarce duplicate awarding
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 37.0924 mm in diameter 42.02 mm in height (including the eyelet) and weighs 28.2 grams without its suspension. Its serial numbber is tamped on its reverse in a very distinct font which is typical for these late duplicates.
The medal is in excellent condition with all details crisp. Even the raised areas like the rivets on the side of the tank and the canons are perfectly visible. All of the original red enamels is still present without repairs or flaking. Its connection ring has not been cut and the brass suspension is time period to the award.
Duplicate awards were (seldom) given to awardees who lost their award due to exceptional circumstances beyond their control like combat or natural disasters. Scarce as such
