Research of the Order of the Red Star:

“Comrade AVERIANOV, as the party organiser of the unit, has achieved good results in extending the number of Communist party members. In the short period, the membership increased by 20 new members. The Communists and Komsomol members were prepared to spearhead the fight against the invaders. In the battle for the hill 203,9 and the village, comrade AVERIANOV organised the Communists into the assault squads. One of these squads was lead by AVERIANOV, who was one of the first to rush into the enemy trenches. The enemy counter attacked near the village Stepanovka on 23 August 1943 by the force of up to 2 infantry companies and 4 tanks. There was a moment, when some of our fighters quailed and began retreating. Comrade ARERIANOV, risking his life, stopped the retreating men, managed to organised them into a fighting unit and thus frustrated the enemy attack. The enemy plan failed.

Conclusion: He deserves state award – order “RED STAR”. ”

Research of the Order of the Order of the Patriotic War 2nd class:

“Captain AVERIANOV I.P. has been serving in the Red Army since 1939. He is the Patriotic war participant since July 1941 and has been bestowed with order “Red Star”. After that, he participated multiple times in combat engagements, has been wounded. In September 1943, serving in the 3rd battalion, 366 rifle regiment, 126 rifle “Gorlovka” Red Banner division, comrade AVERIANOV was the units political commissar. On 05 September, after intensive 24 hours fight near the village Novo-Bakhmutovka, the regiment began pursuing the enemy, who retreated towards the town Stalino. Being on the spearhead of the advance, the battalion encountered an enemy force on the dawn of September 6th, 1943. The battle ensued on the north-western side of the village Krasnogorovka. Captain AVERIANOV was on the right flank of the formation and made sure the troops were ready for an enemy counterattack. The enemy attacked with support of 7 tanks. The men fought gallantly being inspired by AVERIANOV’s example. But this was uneven fight. Comrade AVERIANOV was wounded in this engagement with a fragment of an exploded tank shell into the lower right side of the torso and into the left hip. Comrade AVERIANOV remained laying semi-unconscious on the battlefield until he was salvaged by our troops in the next advance. He was hospitalised and spent time in town Baku.

Comrade AVERIANOV is disciplinned and well educated political officer, devoted to the Socialist Motherland. He dedicates whole his life to the cause of defeating the German invaders.

Captain AVERIANOV deserves order “PATRIOTIC WAR II CLASS”. ”
