Awarded to Lt. Colonel Mikhail Efimovich Lufer (Михаил Ефимович Луфер)
For fighting the White Finns and for long service
The group consists of the following items:
Order of the Red Banner #188674
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 45.3 mm in height, 37.4 mm in width and weighs 27.7 gram without its suspension. The mint mark Monetni Dvor and the serial number are located at the bottom of its reverse.
In good, about average, condition with sharp details and a dark patina to the silver. The red enamels are mostly intact and original but shows some superficial flaking on the lower banner and a chip on the bottom of the top banner. Its connection ring has not been cut and the order comes with a double layer suspension and old ribbon.
Medal for Combat Merit #11460
First type with hand engraved serial number. Made of solid silver and red enamels. Measures 32.14 mm in diameter and 2.66 mm in thickness. The height of the medal is 36.72 mm including the eyelet and it weighs 23.0 grams without its suspension. This piece was originally awarded on a rectangular suspension which was replaced by a pentagon shaped one according to new 1943 regulations on wearing Soviet awards.
In well-kept condition with medium wear to raised areas and several dings and scratches on both sides. The red enamels filling the lettering CCCP is fully present and without repairs. Its connection ring has been cut and the medal comes with an early double-layer steel suspension.

In problem free condition with all pages firmly attached to the cover. The booklet mentions both awards above and an Order of Lenin which is missing in this group.
Citation of the Order of the Red Banner
Devoted to the Party of Lenin–Stalin and the socialist Motherland. Ideologically steadfast, morally stable. Disciplined, diligent, and инициативен (takes initiative). Not sufficiently demanding toward subordinates. Has a tendency to carry out insufficiently justified orders. Tactically competent, works hard on self-improvement. Personally carries out extensive work in training the officer corps.
Conclusion: Deserving of an award for years of service in the Red Army – the Order of the Red Banner.
The Medal for Combat Merit was awarded by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 7, 1940 for exemplary performance of combat missions against the Finnish White Guards (number 358)
