Partisan of the Great Patriotic War Medal 2nd class

Variation 2 with a raised rim on its reverse

Made of brass. Measures 37.47 mm in height including its eyelet, 32.21 mm in width and weighs 16.1 grams without suspension.

In decent, roughly average condition, showing several small dings and scratches. Most details remain visible, though some raised areas are worn. The suspension ring is intact (uncut), and the suspension is period-correct for the medal.

The Medal “To a Partisan of the Patriotic War” (Russian: Медаль Партизану Отечественной войны) was a World War II Soviet award established in two classes. This was done on February 2, 1943, by decree of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. It recognised the courage of the partisans in their struggle to free the Soviet Motherland behind enemy lines. Its statute was amended by a further decree of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1947.
