Description
Mongolian Order of Sukhbaatar #578
First / screwback variationÂ
Made out of solid gold, platinum, silver and enamels. It measures 51.87 mm in height and 50.03 mm in width. Its large size reflects its weight which is 56.4 (!) grams. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.
The order is in excellent overall condition with all details visible and crisp. Even the higher parts of the order show almost no wear. The red and grey enamels are stunning without dings, scratches or repairs. The blue enamel shows two superficial chips on one of the the 3 o’clock and one of the 6 o’clock rays but are otherwise pristine without repairs. The reverse is superb condition without any noticeable scratches or dings and shows an appealing dark toning to the silver. Its screw has not been shortened and the order comes with its time period and well fitted screwplate.
As produced by the Soviet mint, these awards show several recognizable elements like the serial number, the enamels and the usage of precious metals. The high quality is a typical Soviet feature as well.
A stunning, rare piece. Great quality and even more beautiful real life
