Medal for the Defense of the Caucasus variation 1

Made of gold plated brass. The medal measures 32.24 mm in diameter, 37.03 mm in height and weighs 16.4 gram without its suspension.

This medal is in excellent condition. Most of the details on its obverse are still visible. Its reverse shows more wear and has several small dings and scratches. The double layer suspension is time period to the medal.

Awarded to all Soviet military and civilians who participated in the defense of the Caucasus region during WW2 between July 1942 and 9 October 1943.
