Medal for the Defense of the Caucasus
Variation 1 with a separately soldered eyelet
Made of brass. The medal measures 32.11 mm in diameter, 37.38 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 16.8 grams without its suspension.
In nice condition with medium wear on both sides and a fair amount of the original luster still present. Some of the details of the raised lettering and hammer and sickle have worn down, but the outlines are perfectly visible. The double layer suspension is time period to the medal and its connection ring has not been cut.
Awarded to all Soviet military and civilians who participated in the defense of the Caucasus region during WW2 between July 1942 and 9 October 1943.Â
