Medal for the Defense of Moscow
Variation 1 with a separately attached eyelet and old celluloid protection cover
Made of brass. Measures 32.20 mm in diameter, 37.58 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 15.8 grams without its suspension.
In nice condition with its details well preserved. A small amount of the original gold-like luster is still visible and both sides of the medal show several small dings and scratches. Its double layer steel suspension is time period to the medal and its connection ring has not been cut. The owner clearly took pride in this medal and preserved it carefully. A celluloid cover was added to protect the ribbon, leaving it in good condition and fully original.
Awarded to all Soviet military and civilians who participated in the defence of Moscow between 19 October 1941 and 25 January 1942.
