Medal for the Defense of Leningrad
Variation 1b with a ‘Long Horizon’ and old celluloid protection cover
Made of brass. Measures 32.1 mm in width, 37.8 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 17.4 grams without its suspension.
Excellent example with its details perfectly visible and light overall wear. Both sides show few dings and scratches and most of the original luster is still present. The medal comes with a time period brass suspension and old ribbon and its connection ring has been cut.
The owner clearly took pride in this medal and preserved it carefully. A celluloid cover was added to protect the ribbon, leaving it in good condition and fully original.
Awarded to all Soviet military and civilians who participated in the defense of Leningrad between September 1941 and January 1944.
