Description
Soviet Medal for the Construction of the Baikal-Amur Railway
Made out of brass. The medal measures 32.1 mm in diameter, 37.0 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 18.7 gram without its suspension. The reverse of the eyelet is stamped ‘LMD’ (ЛМД) for Leningrad mint.
The medal is in a superb, near mint condition with all details crisp and all of the gold-like luster still present. Even the raised areas show virtually no wear. The medal comes with its time period suspension and original, time period ribbon.
Awarded to workers on the Baikul-Amur Railway (BAM). For 2 years outstanding service between 1974 and 1984.
