Medal for the Construction of the Baikal-Amur Railway

 

Awarded to Vitaly Nikolaevich Sereda (Виталий Николаевич Середа) in 1985

 

 

Made out of brass. The medal measures 32.06 mm in diameter, 37.04 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 16.6 grams without its suspension. The reverse of the eyelet is stamped ‘LMD’ (ЛМД) for Leningrad mint.

 

The medal is in good overall condition with all details crisp and much of its original gold-like luster present. Both sides show few dings and scratches and light wear to the raised areas only. It comes with its time period suspension and original ribbon.

 

Its accompanying booklet is in problem free condition with all pages firmly attached to the cover. It is named to Nikolai Mikhailovich Gichkin and dated 21 November 1985

 

Awarded to workers on the Baikul-Amur Railway (BAM). For 2 years outstanding service between 1974 and 1984.
