Medal for the Construction of the Baikal-Amur Railway

 

Awarded to Nikolai Mikhailovich Gichkin (Николай Михайлович Гичкин) in 1981

 

Made out of gold plated brass. The medal measures 32.11 mm in diameter, 37.03 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 16.7 grams without its suspension. The reverse of the eyelet is stamped ‘LMD’ (ЛМД) for Leningrad mint.

The medal is in excellent, well above average condition with all details crisp with few dings and scratches. It comes with its time period suspension and original ribbon.

Its accompanying document is in problem free condition with all pages firmly attached to its cover. It is named to Nikolai Mikhailovich Gichkin and dated 4 December 1981

 

Awarded to workers on the Baikul-Amur Railway (BAM). For 2 years outstanding service between 1974 and 1984.
