Soviet Medal for the Capture of Berlin variation 2 (U-shaped eyelet)
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.10 mm in width, 37.27 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 17.2 gram without its suspension.
This medal is in excellent condition with its details crisp and a fair amount of gold plating still present. There are relatively few dings and scratches and the medal comes with a post war aluminium suspension.
The Medal “For the Capture of Berlin” was awarded to soldiers of the Red Army, Navy, and troops of the NKVD, direct participants of the assault and capture of the city as well as to the organizers and leaders of combat operations in the capture of this city.
