Soviet Medal for the Capture of Berlin variation 1 with document
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.19 mm in width, 37.58 mm in height, including the eyelet and it weighs 17.4 gram.
This medal is in excellent, far above average condition. Its details are crisp and even the higher laying parts like the wreath show virtually no wear. Almost all of the gold plating is still present and the steel suspension is time period to the medal.
The accompanying booklet is dated 23 december 1945 and is numbered A 157226
The Medal “For the Capture of Berlin” was awarded to soldiers of the Red Army, Navy, and troops of the NKVD, direct participants of the assault and capture of the city as well as to the organizers and leaders of combat operations in the capture of this city.
