Medal for the 20th Anniversary of the RKKA 1938
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 32.1 mm in diameter, 35.8 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 23.8 grams without its suspension.
In excellent, above average condition with most details crisp. Even the fine details of the soldier are clearly visible. The vibrant red enamels have small dings and scratches but no repairs. The medal includes its double-layered suspension.
Judging by the color of the enamel -brighter red rather than the more common dark wine-red shade- this medal appears to be an early award issue. It was most likely later converted to the suspension type in accordance with the 1943 regulations governing the wear of Soviet decorations.
