Medal for Distinction in Guarding the State Border with document
Made of plated German silver. It measures 32.10 mm in width and 3.03 mm in thickness. The height of the medal is 37.00 mm including the eyelet and it weighs 17.5 gram without its suspension.
The medal is in near mint condition with crisp details and virtually no traces of wear. Both sides show an oil-like finishing which is very typical for these late border guard medals. The medal comes with its late Soviet aluminium suspension and time period ribbon. Its connection ring has not been cut.
The document is in excellent condition too with all pages firmly attached. It is dated 16 December 1991 (note this is 9 days before the USSR collapsed!)

Made of silver and gold plated brass. The medal measures 32.12 mm in diameter and it weighs 16.4 gram not including its suspension.

Made of gold plated brass. The medal measures 32.05 mm in width and it weighs 15.7 grams not including its suspension.

Made of gold plated brass and lacquer. The medal measures 39.46 mm in width and it weighs 15.7 grams not including its suspension.
In excellent condition with all details crisp, full gold plating and problem free lacquer. The badge comes with its original suspension and there have been no repairs.
Its accompanying document is in problem free condition.
Excellent Border Guard badge 2nd class with document
Made of aluminium and lacquer. The medal measures 39.50 mm in width and it weighs 4.6 gram not including its suspension.
