Group of Soviet Medals mounted on an old improvised suspension

Would make an interesting research project

The group consists of the following items:

Medal for Bravery #2435471

Made of solid silver. Measures 42.69 mm in height (including its eyelet) and 37.46 mm in width. It weighs 28.2 gram. The medal is in nice condition with crisp details and an appealing dark patina on both sides. Most red lacquer is gone and its connection ring has not been cut. Most likely awarded in the spring of 1945.

Medal for Bravery #3299530

Made of solid silver. Measures 42.47 mm in height (including its eyelet) and 37.24 mm in width. It weighs 28.3 gram. The medal is in nice condition with crisp details and an appealing dark patina on both sides. Most red lacquer is gone and its connection ring has not been cut.

Medal for Combat Merit

Made of solid silver. Measures 37.29 mm in height (including its eyelet) and 32.23 mm in width. It weighs 19.3 gram. The medal is in excellent condition with crisp details and all red enamel present filling the letters ‘CCCP’. Its connection ring has not been cut.

Medal for the Victory over Germany

Made of gold plated brass. Measures 37.26 mm in height, 32.17 mm in width and weighs 17.4 gram. In nice condition with most details visible. Medium wear on the higher laying parts of its obverse.

Medal for the Liberation of Prague

Made of gold plated brass. Measures 37.48 mm in height, 32.08 mm in width and weighs 17.3 gram. Both sides show several small dings and scratches but much gold plating is still present and most details are visible.

It is worth mentioning that its suspension has been privately adjusted to cope with the additional medals the awardee received. Interesting ‘home made’ solution!
