Group of Soviet awards: Partisan Medal, Medal for Bravery and Civil Awards

Awarded to Partisan Lieutenant Vasily Ulyanovich Rozhko (Василий Ульянович Рожко)

Rozhko was part of a Partisan detachment famous for fighting both the Germans and the Ukrainian Nationalists

This group consists of the following items:

Partisan Medal 2nd class

Made of gold plated brass. Measures 37.37 mm in height including its eyelet, 32.24 mm in width and it weighs 15.8 gram without its suspension.

This partisan medal is in near outstanding condition with full gold plating and perfect details. The lettering, hammer and sickle on its reverse and even the eyelashes of both Stalin and Lenin are very well defined. Its connection ring has not been cut and its suspension is time period to the medal. This medal is by far the most stunning piece we have handled to date and probably one of the best condition pieces you will find on the market.

Medal for Bravery #2041222

Made of solid silver and lacquer. Measures 42.70 mm in height including its eyelet, 37.32 mm in width and it weighs 27.4 gram without its suspension.

This medal is in excellent condition with all details visible and relatively few dings and scratches. Most (~90%) of the red Lacquer filling the lettering is still present and it brass suspension is time period to the medal. Its connection ring has not been cut.

Order of the Badge of Honor #306158

Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 49.72 mm in height including its eyelet, 32.84 mm in width and it weighs 32.1 gram without its suspension.

In excellent condition with all details crisp and relatively few dings and scratches. The enamels are stunning and without dings or scratches and its double layer steel suspension is time period to the medal. Its connection ring has not been cut.

Two badges of the The All-Union Agricultural Exhibition (VSKhV)

Both badges are made of solid silver and are in perfect condition with their details crisp and all parts original. Both connection rings are uncut. One of the two medals is numbered #5742 on the bottom of its reverse. They weigh apx 17.5 gram each and are apx 32 mm in diameter. The numbered badge comes with its document with matching serial number.

A page on Partisan Rozhko can be found here although not much information on him is online. His files are not in the Russian Central Archive but may be available in Ukraine.

A Wikipedia page on his partisan unit can be found here

An interesting grouping purchased directly from the family of Rozhko. A group like this with both civil and military awards to a partisan will be hard to find. Especially with a Partisan Medal which is next to impossible to upgrade and has further research potential!
