The group consist of the following items:
Gold Star medal #14758 to a Hero of Socialist Labor with large award document
Made of solid 23 carat gold. It measures 33.47 mm in height including the eyelet, 32.22 mm in width and weighs 15.1 gram without its suspension. The text Герой Социалистического Труда (Hero of Socialist Labor) is located at the centre of the reverse. This later variation has the serial number at the 6 o’clock position in contrast to the early variation which has the number at the 12 o’clock position. The front of the medal shows a hammer and sickle. The suspension is authentic to the medal and measures 26.40 mm in width at his widest point and 21.51 in height at its narrowest point. The minimum know serial number of this variation is 10705 and the maximum is 21082.
The star is in excellent condition with sharp edges of the hammer and sickle and few traces of wear. The letters on the reverse are crisp as is the serial number. The suspension includes its time period and original ribbon, rectangular plate and both the hexagon- and round screwplate. The connection ring between the suspension and the medal has not been cut and the screw is full length.
The star comes with its large award document and original cover both in pristine condition. It is dated 25 June 1966 (awarded the 23rd) and written out to “Кизиме, Ивану Григорьевичу”. Also present are some pages of its small award booklet. Unfortunately the cover and the relevant pages are not present.
Order of the Red Banner of Labor #621121 with its order booklet
Made of silver and enamels. It measures 47.78 mm in height including the eyelet, 36.64 mm in width and weighs 34.6 gram without its suspension.
The order is in excellent condition with crisp details and light overall wear. The enamels are pristine and without repairs and most gold plating is still present. Note the atypical serial number engraving which is seen only in this range.
The accompanying booklet is in excellent condition with all paged firmly attached. it is dated ‘4 May 1971’ and numbered Ж 490400.
Small Gold Medal of the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy with document
Made of gold plated brass. It measures 26.63 mm in height including the eyelet, 23.03 mm in width and weighs 6.5 gram without its suspension.
In excellent condition with most gold plating present and crisp details. It comes with its original suspension device and old ribbon. Its document is dated ’16 December 1965′.
Jubilee Medal ‘In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin’ with document
Made of gold plated brass. It measures 37.04 mm in height including the eyelet, 32.20 mm in width and weighs 18.6 gram without its suspension.
In excellent condition with full gold plating present and crisp details. It comes with its document dated 24 March 1970.
Medal ‘In Commemoration of the 1500th Anniversary of Kyiv’ with document
Made of brass. It measures 36.98 mm in height including the eyelet, 32.13 mm in width and weighs 16.5 gram without its suspension.
In excellent condition with crisp details. It comes with its document dated 22 October 1984.
Short biography on Kizima:
Kizima Ivan Grigorievich – chairman of the collective farm named after Chkalov, Stavishchensky district, Kiev region, Ukrainian SSR.
Born on March 10, 1933 in the village of Popruzhna, Stavishchensky District, Kiev Region, Ukrainian SSR (now Ukraine).
For almost 30 years he worked as a foreman of the field-crop brigade of the collective farm named after Chkalov in the Stavishchensky district of the Kiev region of the Ukrainian SSR.
By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 23 1966, for the successes achieved in increasing the production and procurement of wheat, rye, buckwheat, millet, rice, corn and other grain crops, Ivan Grigorievich Kizima was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and gold medal “Hammer and Sickle”.
He continued to work hard. For high labor achievements at the end of the eighth five-year plan (1966-1970) he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
Later, before retirement, he worked as the chief agronomist of the Chkalov collective farm.
