Кривошея Евсей Саулович

Awarded to Lt. Colonel Evsey Saulovich Krivosheya (Евсей Саулович Кривошея)

For courage and leadership in battle, inspiring his soldiers through personal example and steadfast Bolshevik conviction, particularly during the fighting for Yelnya (Smolensk region), where he led attacks and effectively organized headquarters operations

This group of Soviet awards consists of the following items:

Order of the Red Banner mirror reverse #18018

Made of silver and enamels. Measures 35.99 mm in width and weighs 25.0 grams without its suspesnion. Its serial number is stamped at the bottom of its reverse.

In converted condition with some enamel loss although apx 70% of the red enamel remains, and the white enamel is flawless. The raised areas, such as the central wreath and torch top, show only light wear with details well preserved. The order was converted to a suspension type by soldering an eyelet to the reverse, likely by the recipient, to comply with the new 1943 Soviet award regulations. Despite this alteration, the reverse retains its details clearly, with only minor dings and scratches.

Order of the Red Star #1028908

Made of silver and enamels. Measures 47.43 mm in height, 49.38 mm in width and weighs 29.7 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.

In superb condition flawless enamels. The raised areas on its obverse show light wear only  with most details perfectly visible. The screwplate is time period to the order and its screw has not been shortened.

Order of the Patriotic War 1st class #1103668 1985 edition with document

Made of gold plated silver and enamels. Measures 46.31 mm in height, 44.28 mm in width and weighs 27.8 grams without its screwplate.

In untouched, mint condition with complete gold plating and flawless enamel. Unsurprisingly well preserved, as the recipient was already 84 years old when the award was issued. Even traces of the original packaging grease remain.

Its accompanying document is in great condition and shows the matching serial number.

Medal for the Victory over Germany variation 1 with document

Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.14 mm in diameter and weighs 17.4 grams without its suspension.

In nice condition with medium wear and most details still visible.

The medal comes with its document in problem free condition dated ‘18 April 1946’ and is numbered Н (N) 324621.

Order Booklet

In problem-free condition with all pages intact and securely bound. Alongside the Order of the Red Banner and the Red Star, an Order of Lenin and an additional Order of the Red Banner are listed, though these are not included in this lot.

Short translation of the research to the Red Banner:

Comrade Krivosheya is a staunch Bolshevik and a devoted son of the Socialist Motherland. In the battles against German fascism, he proved himself being a courageous and decisive commissar. In difficult combat situations, he is always at the forefront. With his example and Bolshevik words, he inspires the soldiers to perform heroic deeds. During the battles for Yelnya, Comrade Krivosheya, together with his soldiers, went on the attack against the enemy and worked extensively on organizing the work of the headquarters.

He deserves to be awarded the order of the „RED BANNER“.
