Awarded to Captain Leonid Andrianovich Teryaev (Леонид Андрианович Теряев)
For his role in both the Battle of Berlin as in Kursk where he developed operative plans for the offensive operations while present right on the forward combat line
This group consists of the following items:
Order of the Red Banner #243309
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 45.58 mm in height and 37.87 mm in width. It weighs 24.5 grams. The mint mark Monetni Dvor and the serial number are located at the bottom of its reverse.
This original order is in excellent condition with problem free enamels. Even the higher laying parts show no wear. Both sides show an appealing dark patina. There have been no repairs and its connection ring has not been cut.
Order of the Red Banner #429237 with order booklet
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 44.88 mm in height and 36.55 mm in width. It weighs 25.1 grams. The mint mark Monetni Dvor and the serial number are located at the bottom of its reverse.
In superb condition with perfect details and stunning enamels. Like the first Red Banner this piece also shows an attractive dark patina and no repairs. Its connection ring has not been cut.
Its accompanying booklet is in equally nice condition with all pages firmly attached to its cover. This Red Banner is the only award listed.
Medal for Combat Merit #386243
Made of silver and lacquer. Measures 32.47 in diameter and weighs 17.9 grams.
This piece was originally awarded on a rectangular suspension which was removed as a result of new 1943 regulations on wearing Soviet awards.
The medal is in nice overall condition with most details visible and relatively few dings and scratches. About half of the original red lacquer is still present.
Medal for Combat Merit #1447130
Made of silver and lacquer. Measures 32.41 in diameter and weighs 17.0 grams.
In similar condition as the previous medal but with uncut connection ring.
Medal for the Victory over Germany
Made of gold plated brass. Measures 32.26 in diameter and weighs 17.1 grams.
The medal is in excellent, above average condition with much gold plating still present.
Medal for the Capture of Berlin with document
Made of gold plated brass. Measures 32.10 in diameter and weighs 17.7 grams.
The medal is in superb condition with light overall wear and crisp details. Much of the original gold plating is still present.
Its document is in problem free condition and numbered A 291033

Order of the Red Banner #243309 (Battle of Berlin)
“In the period of the offensive operations from the river Oder and until the outskirts of Berlin, comrade TERYAEV efficiently developed operative plans for the offensive operation of the division, especially emphasising the combined arms doctrine.
Being present right on the forward combat line, he persistently ensured practical realisation of all the combat plans of the division commanders. He also organised prompt and effective line of feedback information, keeping the division commanders fully informed on the situation on the ground. This allowed the division commanders to draw effective combat decisions and thus achieve all the combat objectives in the first phase of the battle for Berlin.
I recommend comrade TERYAEV for state award order “RED BANNER”.”
Medal for Combat Merit #386243 (Kursk Battle)
“In the battles during the period 05-12 July 1943, captain TERYAEV’s diligent work assured that the division commanders were fully and timely informed on the enemy’s advance routes. His effort assisted the command in drawing effective combat decisions for defending against multiple enemy thrusts, while inflicting the enemy extensive losses in both the personnel and equipment.
He deserves state award medal “FOR COMBAT MERITS”.”

Also included in the picture gallery is a scan of an image of Capt. Teryaev, several battle maps of the 132nd Rifle Division at Kursk Battle in July 1943 and at the Battle for Berlin in late April 1945. The final image in the picture gallery shows Capt. Teryaev’s signature on a plan of May 5th 1945
