Documented group of Orders of the Red Star, Patriotic War 1st class and a Victory over Germany Medal
Awarded to Major Vasily Illarionovich Pavelko (Василий Илларионович Павелко)
For skillfully organizing the provision of the battalion with food and uniforms and successfully providing a tank regiment of the front reserve
The group consists of the following items:
Order of the Red Star #1362256 with order booklet
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.02 mm in width, 46.36 mm in height and weighs 32.2 grams. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
The order is converted but in decent condition otherwise with medium overall wear and most details still visible. The enamels are without repairs or flaking but show several scratches and dings on it top ray. At some point in time the veteran decided to have a stickpin attached to the reverse of the order which is done quite nicely and with a piece of an early pentagon suspension.
Its accompanying booklet is in nice condition with all pages firmly attached and mentions this order only.
Order of the Patriotic War 1st class #851002 with document
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 44.68 mm in width, 46.32 mm in height and weighs 27.4 grams. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
The order is in pristine condition with flawless enamels and full gold plating. The screwplate is time period to the order and the screw has not been shortened.

Medal for the Victory over Germany with document
Made of gold plated brass. Measures 32.35 mm in diameter, 37.41 mm in height and weighs 17.4 grams without its suspension.
The medal is in good condition with medium wear and most details still visible.
Its document is in problem free condition and is numbered Б 0104893

Comrade PAVELKO has been in the battalion since the beginning of its formation. Working as an Assistant to the battalion commander for the economic part throughout his work, he skillfully organized the provision of the battalion with food and uniforms, despite the fact that there were often difficulties in providing from the side of the supporting bodies. Skilled in accounting and reporting.
Working to ensure the battalion in conditions of constant dispersion of personnel, there was no such case that the cast did not receive the norm assigned to it.
In November and December 1944, Comrade. PAVELKO was additionally assigned the task of providing a tank regiment of the front reserve, and he coped with this task, despite the difficulties in obtaining allowances for an emergency unit.
Comrade PAVELKO is worthy of a government award with the Order of the “Patriotic War of the 2nd degree”.
