Description
Distinguished MVD Employee Badge #10633 with Document
Awarded to Mikhail Fedorovich Zharkov (Михаил Федорович Жарков)
This MVD badge is made of solid silver, gilt and enamels. It measures 44.50 mm in height, 27.45 mm in width and weighs 19.9 gram without its screwplate. Its serial number and Moscow Mint mark can be found on its reverse.
In nice condition with a small repair. Its details are crisp and much of the gold plating is still present. The enamels are well preserved without repairs and show a superficial flake at the bottom right side of the ribbon only. The enamels at the background, behind the hammer and sickle and the sword, are flawless and its screw has been shortened by a few millimetres. At some point in time the top part containing the enamelled ribbon, hammer and sickle and sword has come off and were soldered back on the base. Some of the traces of the soldering can still be visible although it does not really distract from the overall appeal of the badge. The badge comes with it original screwplate.
Its accompanying document is in great condition and shows the matching badge number ‘10633’ and is dated 19 August 1970
Scarce, especially with its document
