Translation of the citation for the Order of the Red Star:

During the regiment’s combat operations from 12.01.45 to 10.02.45, he constantly followed the tanks, repairing all damage to weapons that arose in combat. During the crossing of the Czarna-Nida River (Poland) on 14.01.45, several tank guns were put out of action by enemy fire. Under heavy artillery and machine-gun fire, he reached the tanks and carried out repairs, restoring their combat capability.

In the area of the Oder crossing, while repairing a gun knocked out by strong enemy fire, he replaced the damaged return-spring mechanism. After finishing the repair he climbed onto the tank and directly in battle helped load the gun and fire at the enemy.

During the regiment’s combat operations he repaired weapons on eight tanks. On 10.02.45 he was wounded but continued working until removed from battle.

He fully deserves the Order of the Red Star.
