Awarded to Lt. Andreev for excellent provision of the battalion with fuel and lubricants, food and spare parts during the operation in Manchuria, CHINA. He especially distinguished himself by providing refueling stations for vehicles along the long Choibalson-Lubey-Solun highway. Note that Lt. Andreev was bestowed his Red Star in 1945, but it took 30 years before he actually received it. Hence the high serial number

Awarded to Private Kurin for actions on July 19, 1943, near Balki Chipilkina in the Voroshilovgrad (now Luhansk) region, where under enemy machine-gun and mortar fire, he laid 30 anti-tank and 150 anti-personnel mines and ensured the delivery of over 100 additional mines to the battlefield. Note that Kurin was bestowed his Red Star in 1943, but it took decades before he actually received it. Hence the high serial number
