For destroying 20 enemy soldiers with fire from his weapon at a distance of 400 meters during the repulsion of a German counterattack on August 5th 1944
This group consist of the following items:
Order of Glory 3rd class #246790Â
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 46.81 mm in width, 48.89 mm in height and weighs 22.9 grams without its suspension. The serial number is located on top of its reverse.
This order is in nice, about average condition with medium wear to the raised areas and most details in the Spasskaya tower still visible. The enamels are fully present but show some dings and scratches. Its connection ring has not been cut and the it comes with its correct double layer steel suspension and old ribbon.
Medal for Bravery #2003677
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 37.31 mm in diameter, 42.49 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 28.1 grams.
The medal is in worn but decent condition with most details visible and numerous dings on both sides. The original red lacquer is worn off and its connection ring has not been cut. The order comes with its period-appropriate suspension and an old ribbon.

Its accompanying order booklet is in used condition but all pages are present and firmly attached to its cover. It mentions the awards above only.

On August 5, 1944, in battle near the village of Zhaklya, Vygodsky district, Stanislav region, during the repulsion of a German counterattack, he destroyed 20 enemy soldiers with fire from his weapon at a distance of 400 meters, thereby contributing to the successful defense against the enemy’s assault.
I petition for Private Kovalenko M.I. to be awarded the Order of Glory, 3rd Class.
