Order of the Red Banner #86357
Awarded to Lieutenant Colonel Anatoly Dmitrievich Sinyaev (Анатолий Дмитриевич Синяев)
For demonstrating exemplary leadership in organizing reconnaissance operations during the liberation of the Donbass region, accurately identifying enemy positions, forces, and defenses, which significantly contributed to the successful breakthroughs and advances of Soviet troops
Lt. Col. Sinyaev was highly decorated with an Order of Bogdan Khmelnytsky 2nd class, Kutuzov 2nd class among many other awards
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 40.72 mm in height, 36.77 mm in width and it weighs 24.4 grams without its screwplate. The serial number and mint mark are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.
This order was originally mounted on a suspension but has been converted to a screwback type, likely by a scammer attempting to deceive a novice collector. Despite this conversion, the order remains in very good condition. Its details are sharp and well-defined, and even the raised wreath in the center shows only light wear. A significant amount of the original gold plating is still intact, and the red and white enamels are extremely well-preserved, with no chipping or repairs. The order comes with a late Soviet screwplate, which fits well.

The citation for these feats reads:
During the battles on the Oder River for holding and expanding the bridgehead, despite the flat terrain and the large number of forests, he managed to organize effective observation, which prevented a flank attack.
A thorough, well-thought-out, and meticulous reconnaissance system exposed the enemy’s rear groupings and defense systems, ensuring the correct decision was made to breach the enemy’s defenses.
In subsequent operations, he correctly identified likely enemy concentration points and provided accurate analyses of enemy actions. His persistence, meticulousness, and selflessness greatly helped the command make the most appropriate decisions for the situation, avoiding unnecessary deployments of main forces where the circumstances did not demand it.
As an experienced and skilled officer, Sinyaev personally took on the most challenging and dangerous areas after completing his tasks. During combat and subsequent strikes against the enemy forces to prevent their breakthroughs under heavy defense, he carried out missions to enter the enemy’s operational rear.
