For street fighting in Berlin during which he brought his gun to direct fire positions on Friedrichstrasse three times, as a result of which his gun destroyed up to 10 enemy soldiers with panzerfausts, an anti-aircraft gun, and 15 German soldiers
Made of solid silver and enamels, Measures 47.82 in width, 48.08 mm in height and weighs 21.9 grams without its suspension.
In excellent, above average condition with dark toning to the silver. The order shows light wear with the details of the raised areas perfectly visible. The enamels are well preserved and original without any flaking, dings or scratches. Its connection ring has not been cut and the order comes with its time period double layer suspension.
Brief description of personal combat feat or merit:
Comrade Karas in battles on April 14, 1945, near Alt-Tuchband, despite intense enemy artillery fire, repeatedly moved his gun to direct firing positions, contributing to timely and effective suppression of enemy fire.
In street battles for Berlin, during a critical moment under heavy enemy fire, he brought his gun to direct fire positions on Friedrichstrasse three times, as a result of which his gun destroyed up to 10 enemy soldiers with panzerfausts, an anti-aircraft gun, and 15 German soldiers.
He deserves the government award – Order of Glory, 3rd Class.
