Description
Order of Lenin #1795
Reissue for a Lenin Gold Head (link)
Awarded to Kahora Talibova (Кахора Талибова), primary school teacher of the Voroshilov collective farm, Dangara district, Tajik SSR on May 4, 1939
For outstanding achievements in school education and Soviet upbringing of children in rural schools, for excellent organization of educational work and active participation in public life in the village
Made of solid gold, platinum and enamels. Measures 40.49 mm in height (including the top of the flag pole), 38.16 mm in width and weighs 35.7 gram without its screwplate. The mint mark Mondvor and the serial number are located on its reverse. Only a few thousand of these were produced and awarded.
This original order is in excellent, well-above-average condition considering it is a pre-war screwback variation. Its details are crisp, and even the raised parts of Lenin’s face show only light wear. The red and grey enamels are well-preserved without repairs and show some minor flaking. There are some dings and scratches on its reverse, but none distract from the overall appeal of the order. Its screw has not been shortened, and the order has never been converted to a suspension type. It comes with its original and well-fitted silver screwplate.
A beautiful and rare piece
