Order of the Red Star #2037423
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.15 mm in width, 46.19 mm in height and weighs 30.9 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order is in a vintage condition with medium wear on the center medallion. The red enamel shows a larger superficial chip on the tip of the 3 o’clock ray of the star (not penetrating the silver base) but is otherwise fine and without repairs. Its screw has not been shortened and the nut is a post war production.
Most likely awarded during the summer of 1945 so with nice research potential
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
