For spotting and reporting 3 enemy boats and a speed barge which allowed the Commander to undertake necessary interception action in time and capture the enemy vessels
Variation with a hand engraved serial number

Made of gold plated brass. It measures 36.14 mm in width, 44.55 mm in height and weighs 20.2 grams without its suspension. Featuring admiral Nakhimov surrounded by 110 ‘pearls’. The serial number, “570”, is hand engraved on the side of the medal. The minimum known serial number for this (sub)variation is 2 and the maximum is 1565.
This Medal of Nakhimov is in excellent, well above average condition. There few dings and scratches on either sides and the higher laying parts show light wear only with most details perfectly visible. Its connection ring has not been cut and both the suspension and ribbon are time period to the medal.
Desirable and scarce variation with hand engraved serial number!
Brief, concrete description of his feat of arms or accomplishments:
During his service on the minesweeper “ТЩ-62”, comrade FILIMONOV participated in all its combat missions. He participated in the combat minesweeping in the Narva bay.
During an enemy air raid against the ship on 02 August 1944, comrade FILIMONOV steadfastly fired at the enemy aircrafts from a “Shvak” machine-gun. After the engagement was over, comrade FILIMONOV acted exceptionally bravely in patching an underwater hole in the hull, which allowed the ship to continue its combat mission.
For courage exhibited in combat, comrade FILIMONOV deserves a state award – “NAKHIMOV” MEDAL.
