Brief and specific description of the personal feat or merits:
Since 22 August 1944, comrade NOVIKOV has been manning the forward observation post and spotting the enemy firing positions, calling in the artillery strikes, and correcting the fire. He spotted and relayed targeting data on 2 enemy machine-gun positions, an anti-tank cannon on open sight position, a mortar battery, and an enemy observation post. All these targets were suppressed and partially destroyed by the fire of the artillery squadron. This effort assisted our troops in breaking through the enemy defense line. In the subsequent enemy pursuit operation, comrade NOVIKOV advanced among our infantry troops, entered the station Pîrliţa and killed 4 enemy soldiers by his personal firearms.
Commander of 6 Guards paratrooper artillery regiment.
26 August 1944 Guards Lt.Colonel signature /PETROV/
He deserves state award order “GLORY III CLASS”.
