Awarded to B.D. Panov (В.Д. Панов)
First variation on a suspension. Less than 2500 pieces produced
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 36.77 mm in width, 45.01 mm in height and weighs 23.7 gram without its suspension. The mint mark is located above the serial number and a stamped ‘7’ -often referred to as makers mark- is located on the center of its reverse. The minimum known serial number of this first variation on suspension is #4875 and the maximum is #7279.
This original order is in excellent, far above average condition with all details crisp. The red enamel is beautiful and without repairs and only shows a minor superficial chip on the 6 o’clock ray of the center star, barely noticeable with the naked eye. The orders shows an attractive light patina and almost all of the gold plating is still present. Its connection ring is uncut and the double layer steel suspension is time period to the order.
A beautiful and early piece. Scarce!
At this point we only manged to find the handout protocol stating his name and “northern Fleer’ only. Other researchers or future attempts might give more detailed results.
