Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 46.07 mm in height, 47.65 mm in width and weighs 28.3 gram. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position and the mint mark on the 12 o’clock position of its reverse. This early variation has a round base ‘heel’ of the screw.
In a nice, about average condition. The medallion shows light wear only and most details are still visible. The enamels are problem free apart from some dings and scratches and a superficial chip on the 7 o’clock ray of the star; not penetration the silver. The reverse is in superb condition with few dings and scratches and a nice, even dark patina. There have been no repairs and the screwpost is full length. It comes with its time period and well fitted silver screwplate.

“He has been engaged on the front of the Patriotic war since 03 December 1941 as a political commissar of an aviation squadron. In the course of the war, he proved his devotion to the cause of the party Lenin-Stalin and the Socialist Motherland.
He efficiently organised the Communist party and Komsomol work among the flying and the ground technical personnel aimed at strengthening the war effort in the struggle against the German-Fascist army. All the personnel is eager to participate and assist the combat missions against the enemy. The aviation squadron has made 164 night combat missions, most of which were successful; 51 transport missions with landing at the partisan controlled areas; 1200 mission with signalling purposes. Most of the flying personnel has have been bestowed with state awards.
Personally, comrade VEREVKIN made 9 night combat missions and 85 mission with signalling purposes. He is demanding towards himself, disciplined, and respected political officer. CONCLUSION: He deserves state award – order “RED STAR”.”
