 10 years of OGPU Badge (1917-1927)
Made of brass and lacquer. It measures 47.31 mm in height, 36.75 mm in width and It weighs 9.1 gram without and 10.9 with its screwplate.
The badge is in excellent condition with a fair amount of details still visible and medium overall wear to the brass. Most of the red lacquer is still present which is quite exceptional for these badges since most have more loss or no lacquer at all. The badge comes with its original brass screwplate and its screw is full length.
A rare piece in better than average condition!Â
The badge was established by the order of the OGPU No. 250-a of December 17th, 1927 and was awarded to both personnel and freelance employees of the OGPU (Secret Police).
