Soviet Order of the Red Banner #401866
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 45.05 mm in height, 36.12 mm in width and weighs 25.0 gram without its suspension. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the bottom of its reverse.
This order of the Red Banner is in near mint condition. None of the higher parts on the obverse show any wear and the details are all crisp. The red enamel is beautiful and flawless. There are no repairs and the connection ring has not been cut. Its double layer steel suspension is time period to the order and both sides show an appealing toning to the silver.
The Order of the Red Banner recognized military deeds. Before the establishment of the Order of Lenin, the order functioned as the highest (and practically the only) military order of the USSR. Practically all well-known Soviet commanders became Cavaliers of this Order. Also awarded to NKVD personnel.
