Medal for the Defense of the Caucasus
Variation 1 with a separately soldered eyelet
Made of gold plated brass. The medal measures 32.06 mm in diameter, 36.89 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 17.0 gram without its suspension.
This medal is in excellent condition with its details mostly visible and much gold plating still present. Both sides shows several small dings and scratches but the lettering is crisp as are the edges of hammer and sickle. The aluminium suspension is of a later period and its connection ring has been cut.
Awarded to all Soviet military and civilians who participated in the defense of the Caucasus region during WW2 between July 1942 and 9 October 1943.
