Soviet Order of the Red Banner #468292
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 44.87 mm in height including its eyelet, 36.52 mm in width and weighs 24.0 gram. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.
This order of the Red Banner is in near mint condition and shows an attractive silky shine on its reverse. None of the higher parts on the obverse show any wear and the details are all crisp. The red enamel is beautiful and flawless and all gold plating is still present. There are no repairs and the connection ring has not been cut. Its double layer steel suspension is time period to the order as is the ribbon.
The Order of the Red Banner recognized military deeds. Before the establishment of the Order of Lenin, the order functioned as the highest (and practically the only) military order of the USSR. Practically all well-known Soviet commanders became Cavaliers of this Order. Also awarded to NKVD personnel.
