Awarded to Junior Sergeant Nikolai Illarionovich Tretyak (Николай Илларионович Третьяк)
Sgt. Tretyak was the first to rush into the enemy garrison, and when his platoon leader was taken out he assumed command of the platoon himself.
During this engagement comrade Tretyak destroyed a wooden bunker containing a light machine gun and killed 4 fascists. When he was severely wounded, he continued leading his men forward until he was hauled off the battlefield
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 41.31 mm in height, 37.28 mm in width and weighs 22.7 grams without its screwplate. The serial number as well as the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse underneath the screwpost.
In nice overall condition. The details are mostly visible, including the ones on the raised parts like the center wreath and the torch. The enamels on the arms of the center red star has been replaced but the top and lower red banner are without repairs. A good amount of the original gold plating is still present on both sides of the order. The reverse is in particularly great condition and shows a dark patina. The order has never been converted to a suspension type and the screwpost has not been shortened. The order comes with its time period silver screwplate.

“When the German garrison in Prudy was being crushed on May 26, 1943, comrade Tretyak was the first to rush into the garrison, and when his platoon leader was taken out he assumed command of the platoon himself.
During this engagement comrade Tretyak destroyed a wooden bunker containing a light machine gun and killed 4 fascists. When he was severely wounded, he continued leading his men forward until he was hauled off the battlefield.
