GUPVO (ГУПВО) stamp (Main Directorate of border and Internal Security of the NKVD of the USSR)
This badge is made of silver- and bronze plated steel and enamels. It measures 53.17 mm in height, 45.31 mm in width (at its widest point including the banner) and weighs 13.5 grams without its screwplate. This variation doesn’t show a serial number but a stamp ‘ГУПВО’ instead.
The badge is in a superb, well above average condition with all details crisp. The enamels are extremely well preserved without flaking, scratches or repairs. Much of the original silver plating is still present on both sides and even the higher laying parts show light wear only.The badge comes with a time period screwplate which fits well.
Beautiful and rare badge. Next to impossible to upgrade
