Order of the Red Star #862134
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 49.78 mm in width, 47.71 mm in height and weighs 32.7 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
In worn condition although a fair amount of details are still visible. The enamel shows loss on the 9 o’clock ray of the star but is problem free on the other rays with some dings and scratches. The reverse is in nice condition and shows a dark patina. The screw is full length and the order comes with a post wartime screwplate.
Probably awarded during the second half of 1944 so with nice research potential
The Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
