Soviet Order of the Red Star #669417
Order of the Red Star; Made of silver and enamels. Measures 49.69 mm in width; 48.05 mm in height and weighs 29.5 gram. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order is in great condition with most details visible. The red enamel shows several dings and scratches but none penetrating the silver. The higher laying parts on its obverse show medium wear and the silver has a medium patina. Its screw has not been shortened and the nut is time period to the order.
Probably awarded in the summer of 1944. Great research potential!
The Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
