Description
Order of the Red Star #394133
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.22 mm in width, 46.96 mm in height and weighs 28.0 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order is in worn condition but still shows a fair amount of details on the center medallion. The red enamel shows loss on the 3 o’clock ray of the red star but is otherwise fully present and original. Its reverse is in better condition with only few traces of wear and shows an appealing dark patina. Its screw has not been shortened and the order comes with a well fitted wartime screwplate.
Probably awarded the second half of 1943. Thus with nice research potential
The Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
