Made of silver and enamels. Measures 47.94 mm in width, 46.90 mm in height and weighs 27.4 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post. The minimum known serial number is 235999 and the maximum is 594967.
In superb condition with crisp details. The red enamels are extremely well preserved and without repairs and free from visible scratches or dings. The raised parts on its obverse show light wear only and both sides gathered an appealing layer of medium dark patina. Its screw has not been shortened and its time period screwplate fits perfectly.
Probably awarded the second half of 1943. Stunning example with great research potential
The Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
